Our Leadership Group plays an active role in supporting strategic development and priority setting for Moananui.

Our Chief Executive Jodie Kuntzsch says the members are “leaders and doers” who have brought their expertise, commitment, and the resources of their respective organisations to support the kaupapa of Moananui. “The group represents a broad spectrum of experience in ocean based and related industries. They have been on this journey of establishment since the beginning and they play a huge role, from providing advice, through to championing New Zealand’s blue economy on the global stage,” she says.

Volker Kuntzsch : Volker is the CEO of Cawthron Institute, and has had an over 30 year career working with seafood companies around the globe.

Helen Mussely – Co-chair : Helen leads The New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research Limited's Seafood Technologies portfolio, which covers a wide range of research and technology development.

Fiona Wilson: Fiona is the Chief Executive of Nelson Regional Development Agency (NRDA), with over 25 years international experience in regional, economic and tourism development.

Scott Gillanders – Co-chair : Co-chair Scott is Chief Operating Officer at MacLab (NZ) Ltd and boasts an extensive career in aquaculture and seafood.

Paul Miller : Dr Paul Miller is the CEO of Kernohan Engineering with a proven history of working in the mechanical engineering and manufacturing industry.
